The Week That Was #21

GUYS! I started work yesterday. Say, whaaaat? Technically, it was just an induction day, but it totally counts. To start with I was set with a mountain of paperwork (that I still need to finish...) and then given a few tours of the building and introduced to around 20 people from other departments that I might never talk to again. So that was rather mind-exploding. The building itself is really interesting, as it used to be a Victorian workhouse, and therefore has really tiny ceilings, huge windows dotted about and some really odd staircases that lead you to the middle of nowhere. I'm next in on Monday and that's my official start date, so I'm excited to get stuck into a few big projects!

I mentioned in my last The Week That Was post that I was heading off to see Manic Street Preachers at Cardiff Castle, and my goodness that was good! As part of their Holy Bible 20th Anniversary tour, they played the whole album - barring one song - and then came back afterwards to play a few more tracks. Needless to say we both really enjoyed it, and can't wait to see them again. We've had some ticket woe with seeing the Manics before, due to cancellations and can't-get-it-off-work situations, but we were so glad we made it to Cardiff for such an amazing show. I have got to say though, whoever is in charge of booking events at Cardiff might have regretted putting on a stadium show of One Direction on at the same time as this...

Apart from that, I haven't been up to a great deal this week. I thought I would manage to read hundreds of books - slight exaggeration - before joining the world of work, but I just haven't. I did manage to finish a book yesterday though, so I'm on to the next library book I've loaned out. So what have I been upto? Let's see!

- I managed to get my half stone award at Slimming World, yay me!
- I bought even more work clothes, and a new watch.
- I bought some flavoured green tea to inspire myself to drink less coffee, but I'm yet to try it...
- I can't think of anything else, hmm.
- I found out that 1D mums are the devil. Do not mess with a 1D mum in a multi-storey carpark.

What have you been up to this week?
