Hair It Goes Again!

I've got to say, I absolutely love the title of this prompt 'fashion, beauty and grooming'. Grooming! Is it just me who finds grooming a funny word? It probably is, isn't it? Ah well. I thought now would be great time to show you the haircut I've been whinging about on twitter for the past couple of weeks. First, let me show you what I wanted my hair to look like...
The hair I wanted *sigh* taken from my pinterest board
I had been 'pinning' my dream hair for weeks now, and thought I could totally rock a pixie cut. Sadly, I asked my hairdresser for her opinion and she deemed this to mean that I wasn't 'ready' for a pixie cut and then cut my hair in a way she wanted. You know, as apposed to what I wanted. She kept grabbing her little mirror to show me the back of my head and I just sort of squinted at it and smiled, in an overly British fashion. Maybe it's my own fault for not telling her that without my glasses on, I'm as blind as a bat. Maybe it's my fault for not telling her to stfu and give me my pixie cut. Who knows? But somehow I ended up with a concave bob and now I look like this...

Excuse the face. And the hair, I guess.

It's really weird. I've no idea why a trained professional would choose to do this to someone. I mean, I asked her to cut off all my hair, including the heavily damaged stuff. She then proceeded to tell me off about dyeing my own hair, and cuts off bits but leaves the worst parts? It doesn't even make sense. She was a bit of a snooty cow, and I can safely say I will never go back there again. I've had people tell me that I suit my hair like this, which is nice, but it still upsets me that I have this hairstyle that I didn't want.

I'm going to have to go back to a hairdressers eventually, as it's concave and I don't really want my hair to be a million lengths. Hopefully my hair will have a growth spurt (unlikely, but a girl can dream) and by the time I go back to uni in September I'll have nice enough hair again.

Have you ever had a hairstyle you hate?

  1. My hairdresser actually listened and cut a pixie cut in for me a few years ago, but it looked so awful with my massive round face :( I'm growing mine out from a graduated bob now and it's the worst. I do think you really suit short hair though :)

  2. I don't understand hairdressers, you go in ask for something and somehow they have managed to turn what you said in to something else. The short hair really suits you though, I would love to be brave enough to do that but my hair is so thick, I think I'd come out the other end looking like someone who's been electrified x

  3. I think it suits you, but I feel your pain. Many a time I've gone into the hairdressers and smiled politely as they've given me a hairstyle I'm not overly happy with. The only time I've ever complained was after having a chemical relaxer put on and my scalp burning all night as the junior hadn't washed it out properly. Having £100 refunded didn't quite make up for patched of burns on my scalp, but I was quite proud of myself for going back rather than trying to neutralise it at home!!

  4. Pinterest is responsible for all my hair decisions, need to ban myself from there really. I do hate such a hate for hairdressers, and I do wonder how some of them are trained. But you do suit short hair!
