A Post Not Entirely About British Sandwich Week

I'll be honest and say this post in actually not at all about British Sandwich Week. I was definitely going to blog about my favourite sandwiches, but then I accidentally ate my sandwich before I snapped/instagrammed it so now I'm going to blog about something else. I mean, I make the rules around here. Instead, I'm going to talk about my week. YAY EXCITING.

Looking like a gremlin next to beautiful Leona - Dylan messing with gender stereotypes
Okay, so in the last week or so, I have been basically working my arse off trying to do uni work. I say 'working my arse off' I have been doing slightly more than the minimum. As well as working to the slightly-less-than nth degree, I have also been having fun. YAY FUN. I love having fun. Much more than I tolerate doing uni work. So, what fun did I have? I only went and saw McBusted! Oh baby. Best night ever. I mean, you would think it wouldn't get any better than that but I only went and met Leona as well! And then we went to the gig together! And I cried! It was so good. One of my favourite things about the gig, actually, is that my phone had died so I had no option but to completely immerse myself in all the lovely McBustedness. It was like actually being at a gig in 2003, chortle!

I've got to be honest and say that ever day after that gig was a huge comedown. That was, until, I walked to the shop one day with Dylan and we had a browse in the chocolate aisle. I mean, that was a complete accident, of course. Anyhoo, there we were, wondering if 3 chocolate bars for £1 is better value for money than one large chocolate bar for £1 when Dylan decided he wanted one of the fancy themed Kinder Eggs. Now, I want you to look at the picture of him. Do you see his t-shirt? It's Marvel Superheroes. When faced with the option of a blue Marvel egg and a pink Disney Princess egg, Dylan went for pink. When we got home, he excitedly ripped off the wrapper, bashed the egg until all the chocolate broke off, and asked me to pop open the little orange case. He was delighted to see Jasmin, and then asked if we could buy another one for an Ariel. I know, Dylan is two, and I know, he doesn't realise that Disney Princesses are for everyone but in a world were there are 'girl' toys and 'boy' toys, I am so fucking happy that he wanted a girl toy. Seriously. Well done, child.

Okay, so that wasn't all of my week, but I have been posting every day and I thought you would be sick of me by now! How has your week been? Are you taking part in #BEDM?

Chelsea xo

  1. Well done, Dylan, indeed <3
So happy that you and Leona met and also that you had a lovely time at McBusted :) Also, just noticed that you've included me in your favourites list - thank you for being so kind, and for your comment on my recent post too.
    Lots of love xxxxx

    1. You're more than welcome, m'dear :) xxxx

  2. Yey for Dylan breaking the gender stereotypes! I was all about playing with toy cars, playmobile and lego growing up I will be honest, never got into the whole Disney/Princess thing myself - oh those were the days!

    1. It really annoys me that now you can buy 'girl' lego :(

And g'wan Dylan! A sign of good parenting on your half too! ;)

    Danniella x

  4. I just love that you managed to fit your McBusted excitement into one paragraph but I just had to go fucking crazy and basically wrote a novel on it! I can't wait to see you again soon!!x

  5. haha I know, you're showing me up, man! I can't wait eiiiither! We did to pick out an actual date x
