101 things in 1001 Days #1

I don't know if you've noticed, but since July 1st there has been a '101 things in 1001 Days' page along the top of my infobar thingum. As I don't think I actually mentioned it to anyone, I thought I had better tell you about it now.

I've seen this on quite a few blogs, and I thought it was a really great thing to do. So far I have a few things in progress, so on with the update!

4. Get a job whilst studying
I now have a job! It's a temporary one over Christmas, but it still counts, right? I can't wait to start my first shifts, wooo!

11. Open a savers account for Dylan
This is pretty self-explanatory I think, we had a meeting with a chap from the bank and set it up pretty easily. Dylan was really good, until he started throwing his toy boat around...

13. Make an in-goings/out-goings list
Okay, so we've made a spreadsheet for all our money and stuff, but it's quite hard to do when we don't know exactly what money we'll have each month. The joys of student finance!

34. Do something special on our anniversaries (1/3)
It was our first anniversary last week, and we managed to rope a two day celebration out of it. We had a meal with Joe's family on the Tuesday then had a nice romantic meal and cinema trip on our actual anniversary, the Wednesday. We had a really fun time and I'm so excited for year ahead!

47. Start a perfume collection
I've finally started doing this! My sister-in-law went to America so I sent her off with a list of possible things for me and she brought me back a Marc Jacobs Honey perfume! So happy about it :) She said it was actually more expensive than it is in the UK, which I found odd, but I'm guessing that's because of it's newy newness, maybe?

48. Dye my hair blonde
Okay, so this isn't exactly true. As my hair is dipdyed, the bottom half is now a proper blonde colour, and less brassy orange! Sadly it makes me want to dye the rest of my hair blonde, but I'm happy with it for the time being.

66. Make £100 from selling on ebay
I did this quite easily, and it is the first thing I have properly ticked off my list. I sold my camera and it ended up going for £400!

84. Go to five comedy shows (1/5)
Yay, I saw David O'Doherty and he was hilarious. I want to see his show at the Edinburgh Fringe so badly, as I know it's different to the one we saw. You can read my review of the show here.

85. Watch every episode of Breaking Bad
Does this count? I've seen every episode that I can view, anyways.

88. Read 100 new books (4/100)
Whoa, slow your horses down Chelsea! That's right, four books! The first was a collection of short stories called The Last Girlfriend on Earth by Simon Rich. Well, they weren't all named that, but y'know.
The second was the much less cheery The Kite Runner by Khaled Hosseini, which is apparently a film also but I haven't seen that. The book made me cry so I don't think I'd want to watch the film...
I also read The Fault in Our Stars by John Green, which was lying around at my in-laws so I thought I'd read it. I did, in one sitting, and I cried my eyes out.
The last book on my reading list was 1984 by George Orwell. I've never actually read it before, despite it being on our bookshelf for a loooong time, and I thought I better read something while I waited for my incredibly slow Waterstones order. The end shocked me, which I quite like in a book.

I'm yet to start anything on my family goals  so I think I should probably focus on them for the next update! I have put my name forward for a few blogger meet ups, so I'm really looking forward to them!

  2. This reminds me that I should probably publish my own list of 101 Things! It's been lurking in draft form for ages now.

You're doing really well, especially finding a job in the current job market. Wish I could make so much on eBay; I'll have to put more effort into it.

  5. Well done on crossing off so many! I started my list in February and I think some of my goals were a bit too long term aha.

I love the blonde dip dye! I really want to dye my hair blonde but I've had red hair for 3 years, and I don't think the ginger in between will suit me haha.

Well done on the new job too :)

    1. Oh, thank you!

I've had the ginger-inbetween stage, but apparently I suited it, which I'm not sure is exactly a compliment...
